Why ICO?
Besides the fact that ICO is a seven-minute commute for me, the smaller college atmosphere is very attractive, as is the fact that ICO is a stand-alone optometry college with a sterling reputation and long history. ICO’s library produces VisionCite, a vision science journal article citation database that indexes vision science journals, some of which are not indexed by PubMed. VisionCite is available via subscription for any vision science professional and institution to use. The library staff members are awesome: experienced, dedicated professionals who are eager to help students to succeed at ICO.
Biography
An information management professional for over 20 years, Christine is experienced in corporate, academic and nonprofit environments, and has also been a small business owner. She serves as the Membership Chairperson of the Association of Vision Science Librarians, as well as the American Library Association’s Academic College and Research Libraries’ 2015 Meeting Planning Committee. In 2013, she attended a Leadership in Academic Libraries professional development program at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
